Background

Ty Simpkins has been acting before he could speak or walk. He was only three weeks old when he made his first television appearance on N.B.C’s long-running soap opera “One Life To Live” (1968). Simpkins played the infant Jack Manning, the only child of Blair and Todd Manning on the show. He appeared for just a few episodes, but the journey to stardom had begun in earnest. The actor went on to appear in print ads and commercials. He also bagged a recurring role in “Guiding Light” as Jude Cooper Bauer for four years. Fans may have also seen him as a guest star on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.”

Simpkins got his first movie break in 2005 with Steven Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds.” A string of film roles followed soon after. He played the younger version of Jude Law’s character in “All The King’s Men” (2006). Simpkins shone as Aaron in the award-winning “Little Children” (2006). In 2008, he starred alongside his sister, Ryan Simpkins in “Revolutionary Road.” The siblings played Michael Wheeler and Jennifer Wheeler in the critically-acclaimed film. By 2013, Simpkins became the first child to receive a prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He portrayed Harley Keener, Tony Stark’s young sidekick in “Iron Man 3.” Simpkins would come back as Harley Keener in a cameo for “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), where his character attends Tony Stark’s funeral. In between the Marvel movies, the young actor appeared in another major film. He portrayed the “younger kid brother” in “Jurassic World” (2015).

Simpkins has already achieved so much for a star so young. He’s starred in two of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters of all time, and his acting career has just begun. Simpkins lives in California with his family. He enjoys sports and spending quality time with his three cats and two dogs.
