Background

Young Lyric is currently one of the most skilled young rappers, and she distinguishes herself in a crowded field of aspiring young rappers. Her father and uncle are both musicians and she grew up with a passion for singing, dancing, and rapping. She stunned everyone when she performed for the first time in front of her entire school at seven. Since then, she’s been invited to perform at practically every school event. When she first posted “Pink and Purple” on YouTube and stunned everyone with her talent, the world was fascinated by her rapping abilities.

Her interest in music is attributed to her father, musician Mitchell Ragston III. Her mother, Olivia Ragston, a housewife, has also supported the rapper in her music career. She is currently home-schooled but she used to attend Ridge Point High School. When she was young, she had already been composing and writing raps and songs for years as a hobby but had never attempted anything serious. She and her friends then decided to make a webcam video of a remix to Young Jeezy’s ‘Lose My Mind’ and publish it on YouTube.

She began recording and publishing other videos, which attracted the attention of music companies, radio stations, managers, agents, and admirers of all ages worldwide. Her distinct musical style is a blend of hip-hop, rock, pop, and R.&.B., and she has been likened to industry heavyweights such as Raven Symone, Nicki Minaj, KeKe Palmer, and Willow Smith. She also created several kid-friendly tunes so that both children and adults can enjoy them. She has recorded several singles and mixtapes and has appeared in over 35 music videos. In 2015, she released two new albums, “H.G.I.C.” and “Princess.”
