Reagan Strange

Background

Reagan Strange was born to parents Steve Strange and Amanda Strange-Kucinski on July 28, 2004. She was born in Germantown, Tennessee but raised in Northwest Mississippi. She has three siblings, an older sister Kendall and brothers Brock and Brady. Strange’s first stint in the showbiz industry was as a child in 2015 when she appeared regularly on the game show “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” It was during the taping of the show that she first stated that she hoped to pursue a career in singing, acting, and dancing. In 2016, she released an original single titled ‘Invincible.’ She featured in background roles in episodes of the television shows “Bizaardvark” and “Coming Home” in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Although Strange started singing at the age of seven, she got her big break in 2018 when she entered the 15th season of “The Voice.” She sang ‘Meant to Be’ by Bebe Rexha during her blind audition and impressed Adam Levine and Blake Shelton enough to turn their chairs. She eventually joined Team Adam. During the Top 10 performance, she performed ‘Cry’ by Faith Hill, however, she fell ill soon after and was unable to continue performing with her fellow competitors the next day. As a result, she ended up in the bottom three. As per the “The Voice” format, singers who ended up in the bottom three had to sing in an Instant Save performance, after which the in-house audience voted for who to save. Even though Strange was unable to perform for a second time, her coach Levine urged audience members to vote for her. This act was rather controversial with many speculating that Strange should not have even been considered for votes as she did not perform at all that week. Levine was also accused of displaying favoritism despite his team member being invalidated. Strange ended up winning the Instant Save vote and advanced to the semifinals, while the two other bottom three contestants who did perform were eliminated from the competition. Strange progressed to the middle three, where she had to perform another song in an Instant Save situation to make it to the finale. She performed ‘Wherever You Will Go’ by the Calling but was ultimately eliminated.

In 2019, Strange released four music videos of songs she covered — ‘Warrior,’ ‘Rhiannon,’ ‘Yesterday,’ and ‘Never Alone,’ all directed by Carl Diebold. Also in 2019, Strange released a new track and music video, “Tell Me I Can’t,” coinciding with March’s national Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. In May 2022, she participated in the inaugural season of “Miss Teen Volunteer America” and finished as the second runner-up.
