Walters has been a recurring cast member of the program since its very first season. She is also a breast cancer survivor, which inspired her to start the 50 Shades of Pink Foundation. She had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer twice, once in 2004 and again in 2008. Walters received her double bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and Alcorn State University. She then went on to attend the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and obtained her medical degree. Walters completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, working hand in hand with Mercer University.
Directly after finishing her residency, Walters opened her own private practice in Atlanta. In addition, she has been working with and is affiliated with Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently, she has been working for a private practice known as Comprehensive Women’s OB/GYN, where she performs obstetric and gynecological exams. She also assists with birth control options and infertility counseling.
