Background

Kian Robert Lawley was born in Sioux City, Iowa, in the U.S, on September 2, 1995. He and his family relocated to San Clemente, California, when he was five years old. His parents split when he was eight years old, and he was raised by a single mother. Lawley became interested in social media at a young age, and when he was 14 years old, he launched the YouTube channel “superkian13.” In 2012, he collaborated with other YouTubers, Connor Franta, Trevi Moran, Ricky Dillon, Jc Caylen, and Sam Pottorff, to create a collaborative channel called “Our2ndLife (O2L).” The channel grew to over 2.77 million subscribers until disbanding in December 2014.

He had established himself as a famous YouTuber, and he and his friend, J.C. Caylen, founded a collaborative channel called “KianAndJc” on July 28, 2014, which has over 3.8 million subscribers. Lawley is also popular for his gaming abilities. He even has his own gaming channel where he streams his gaming content live. Over 64,000 people have subscribed to the “Kian Lawley VODS,” launched on December 31, 2020. Kian Lawley’s YouTube fame has helped him earn followers on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch, among other prominent social media platforms. His Twitch channel, where he uploads interesting live streams, currently has over 128k followers. He’s also popular on TikTok, where he has over 679,000 followers and over 10 million likes. His Twitter account, which he established in May 2011, now has over six million followers. Lawley’s Instagram account has over 3.9 million followers, and he uses it to share interesting photographs and video clips from his business and personal life. He has exploited his social media fame to promote himself as an entrepreneur. T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, key chains, tote bags, mugs, and phone cases are among the items he designs and sells.

In 2015, he made his cinematic debut in the horror thriller “The Chosen,” in which he played Cameron. Lawley then acted alongside Bella Thorne in the drama film “Shovel Buddies,” where he played Dan, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March 2016. He also starred as Bean Boy in Tyler Perry’s comedy horror film “Boo!” in the same year. He then appeared in the short film “The YouTube Killer.” Lawley made his television debut in 2017 when he starred in an episode of the popular T.V. show “AwesomenessTV” and quickly rose to prominence as a T.V. actor. In the popular T.V. series “Zac & Mia,” he bagged the lead role of Zac Meier. 2017 was indeed his year, as he appeared in shows such as “H8TERS” and “Guilty Party,” as well as in the film “Before I Fall,” wherein he played Rob Cockran, which opened at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2017. He was cast as Elliot Dawson in the horror-thriller film “Monster Party,” directed by Chris von Hoffmann, in 2018. Lawley was fired from the movie “The Hate U Give” on February 5, 2018, following the resurfacing of a video showing him using racially offensive slurs. Lawley apologized on Twitter, saying that he is “truly sorry” to individuals harmed by his actions and comments. He received his second significant T.V. role in 2020 when he was cast as Vantaa ‘Van’ Hamilton in the Finnish comedy series “Perfect Commando.”
