Diamond Nicole Strawberry was born on June 28, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, to Lisa and Darryl Strawberry, a former professional baseball player. Her father named her Diamond to show his love for baseball and invest in her the same passion. However, Strawberry was more attracted to dressing up, playing with make-up, and going out instead of baseball, which saddened her dad. When Strawberry was 19, she became pregnant with her first child. She wanted to have it aborted because she wasn’t sure she was ready for the responsibility, but her mother convinced her to keep the child. Her daughter, MyLisa, was born on September 17, 2007.

In 2014, Strawberry moved to New York City to pursue her modeling and music career and to be with her boyfriend, Cisco Rosado. At the same time, she joined the supporting cast of “Love & Hip Hop: New York” season five, a series that showed the journey of female singers trying to enter the music industry in N.Y.C.
