Bob The Drag Queen

Background

Christopher Caldwell, popularly known as Bob the Drag Queen, was born in Columbus, Georgia, U.S.A, and raised in Clayton County, Georgia. She is a non-binary comic, musician, T.V. personality, and actress, who professionally goes by the name “Caldwell Tidicue.” Her pronouns are “she/her” as well as “he/him.” Her mother owned a drag bar in Columbus and took young Caldwell to the bar on nights when she could not afford a babysitter. At the drag bar, Caldwell worked and collected money from patrons.

As a teenager, she attended Morrow High School. Thereafter, she pursued theater at Columbus State University. At the age of 22, she moved to New York City with two suitcases, about $500 in her pocket, and a dream to become a standup comic and actress. She began doing drag in 2009 after watching season one of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Her character primarily focused on stand-up routines, later including lip-syncing to popular songs. On February 1, she joined the cast of the eighth season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” On the show, she garnered admiration for her impeccable comedy. In the year 2020, she began co-hosting the H.B.O. reality T.V. series “We’re Here,” alongside Shangela and Eureka O’Hara – her fellow “Drag Race” contestants.

Over the years, Caldwell has also achieved success in the fields of film, television, music, and theatre. Her T.V. comedy special “Bob the Drag Queen: Suspiciously Large Woman” aired in July 2017. In 2020, her second comedy special titled “Bob the Drag Queen: Crazy Black Lady” went live. She also writes jokes for fellow drag queens, such as Monet X Change, Trinity Taylor, and Ginger Minj.
