Chris Evans

Background

Chris Evans was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Evans grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts. His mother, Lisa (née Capuano), was the artistic director of a local youth theater. Evans’ father, Bob, was a dentist. Evans and his three siblings were curious about musical theater. Evans attended acting camp at a young age. Years later, he secured a casting company summer internship.

Evans took acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York one summer before his senior year in high school. Evans appeared in an educational film ― “Biodiversity: Wild About Life,” in 1997. Three years later, he began to focus more on his acting career. In 2000, Evans starred in “The Newcomers” and “Opposite Sex.” Evans moved to L.A. and lived at Oakwood Apartments, where he met other young actors. Evans’ drive grew; he made a debut in television films.

Evans experienced a breakthrough from 2005 to 2010; he featured in “London” in 2005, “The Nanny Diaries” in 2007, and “The Losers” in 2010. His first role as Captain America was in the 2011 film “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Evans later acted in “The Avengers,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and more “Avengers” and “Captain America” sequels.
