Meek Mill

Background

Mill was born in South Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents are Robert Parker and Kathy Williams. His father died when he was a child; as a result, his mother struggled financially and raised him alone. His uncle, a D.J., initially got him interested in rap music. Later, in his teens, he partook in rap battles, practiced his songwriting well into the night, and formed a group called Bloodhoundz. He began to make mixtapes with the group, and one of those caught T.I’s attention, who then signed him to his label, Grand Hustle Records. Unfortunately, in the same year, Mill got arrested for being in possession of a firearm and went to jail for seven months. But he was lucky to be released on probation. He left Grand Hustle Records in 2010 without releasing any songs under the label.

He went on to sign with Rick Ross’s M.M.G. Entertainment in 2011. In 2012, he released his first studio album, “Dreams & Nightmares,” and also launched his DreamChasers record label that year. In 2015, he released his second album, titled “Dreams Worth More Than Money,” and the album reached number one on the Billboard 200. He started dating rapper Nicki Minaj in 2015, but they broke up in late 2016. In 2017, Mill released his third studio album, “Wins & Losses.” He dropped “Championships,” his fourth album, in 2018. The rapper also released four mixtapes on his DreamChasers series in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2016.

Mill has become a successful rapper loved by millions of fans. His style is unique, as his verses are witty, fast, and delivered with strong emotions. He has also suffered legal injustice, which makes many people sympathetic toward him.
