Charlie Hunnam is an English actor and screenwriter born in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the United Kingdom, on April 10, 1980, to parents Jane Bell and William Hunnam. When Hunnam was young, he was troublesome and was expelled from school for fighting with classmates, which led to him taking exams from home. After high school, he attended the Cumbria College of Art and Design, where he graduated with a degree in film theory and film history, as well as performing arts, aiming to write and direct his films.

Hunnam’s career began in 1998 when he was cast in three episodes of the television series “Byker Grove,” and later in 1999, he was cast in “Queer as Folk” for 10 episodes. Since those early years, he has played a role in many films as well, such as “Pacific Rim,” “Crimson Peak,” “The Lost City of Z,” “Triple Frontier,” and the title role in “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” In 2008, Hunnam got the character of Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller in the hit television series “Sons of Anarchy,” which he played for six years.
